Get your calendars ready. You will need to start filling some important dates—not necessarily in chronological order.
Saturday, April 9: This is the general orienation for the program, or what I like to call the Big Meeting, when all students in both sessions of the Montepulciano program meet for the first time. Place: Milledgeville, in the Arts and Sciences auditorium of the GCSU campus. Time: 9:00 a.m. for registration and snackies (if you missed breakfast), 9:30 for the general meeting. Check your e-mail (or here) for more details, but orientation will last until about 3:30, and will include a general orientation session, a break for lunch, and meeting your classes and professors. In fact, April 9th will be, in effect, your first day of class, when you will get your syllabi and assignments. Many of you will be hearing from your professors in advance of April 9th, so watch your e-mail.
Just to be clear: attendance at this meeting is mandatory. You must be there! Also, please note: parents are welcome! (By us, anyway.)
In addition to the Big Meeting, each campus—KSU, GCSU, and GSU—will be having various events, some mandatory, some voluntary. The only definite date for now is an orientation for KSU students on March 2 at 3:30 in Social Sciences, room 2038. This too is mandatory, but if you have problem with the date and time, you should contact your program director, either Joe Remillard or Todd Harper (info on the right). GCSU and GSU will announce the dates of their own campus orientations soon.
Note also: March 1st is the deadline for session I students to pay the first installment of the program fee, March 15 for the second installment. April 1 is the the deadline for session II students to pay the first installment of the program fee, April 15 for the second installment.
